(2010-08-04)Global LED Market Increasing by 6.2% in 2009

As is revealed in the report "Reviews and Prospects of Global High Brightness LED Market of 2010 " released by Strategies Unlimited recently, the global LED market rises to 5,400 million dollars in 2009 from 5,080 million dollars in 2008, increasing by 6.2% compared with the same period.

The report also points out that, as demands for LED TV increased, sales of LED products for display reached USD 370 million with a year-on-year increase of 178%.

The investigation report indicates, stated by Lee Sang-min, vice president of sales from Seoul semiconductor, and though the sales amount of LED television was 10% lower than that of the whole LED market, it was satisfying in other fields of LED application in 2009. The supply quantity of LED for LED TV is expected to increase significantly in China Mainland, Japan and Taiwan this year, thus enhancing the sales of relevant LED products correspondingly. In addition, LED illumination is considered as the new growth engine of LED market.
